친애하는 빈센트 반 고흐 선생님, ● 그곳에서는 평안하신가요? 왜 그러셨어요! 누가 그러더군요. 모든 화가들에게 콤플렉스를 안겨준 유일한 화가라고... 100년을 앞서간 작품이라니 당대인들의 무지함을 어떻게 탓 할 수 있겠어요. 제 친구가 당신의 서간이 담긴 책을 읽고 밤새 울었다고 하더군요. 그 친구에게 무엇이 너를 그렇게 슬프게 하더냐고 물으니, 성공에 대한 확신도 없이 저돌적으로 달려간 당신의 삶이 측은해서 라고 하더이다.

My dear Vincent Van Gogh, ● How have you been doing up there? Why did you do that? I heard people say that you're the only artist who left complex to every following painter. It is not easy to blame your contemporaries' ignorance because your works were one century ahead of time. One of my friends told me that the book of your letters made him cry over a whole night. The reason was, he added, that he felt pity for your reckless life without any confidence in worldly success. Do you know how the current art world is doing? While conceptional art is prevalent, there is little room for classic painting. If you were here, with superior talent, you could be recognized as the best in new media art. Or could you stick to brush painting, talking about art critics' conspiracy? One day an art critic, in the review of my comic style paintings, mentioned the current suffering in South Korea art field. Please give me an advice! Anyway I'm a little luckier than you were because I sold a few of my paintings to this world. I feel that my situation resembles yours because you always depended on your younger brother for a living just as I can't support my family enough. Your spirit could be freer than mine as you never got married. Loneliness is not always an inferior thing. Out of extreme solitude, a great masterpiece is born.
